Sparkling bath bombs

Sparkling bath bombs
DIFFICULTY
INGREDIENTS:
  • - 2 tablespoons of citric acid

  • - 2 tablespoons of baking soda

  • - 1 tablespoon of cornstarch

  • - 1/2 tablespoon of grapeseed oil

  • - a pinch of pink oxide (or coloring of your choice, preferably in powder form. If it's liquid, a couple of drops will suffice, but it's optional)

  • - 7 drops of eucalyptus essential oil

  • - 5 drops of tea tree essential oil

  • - water as needed

A short recipe from La stanza Bio for an energizing bath or a facial cleanse!

Preparation

In a bowl, combine citric acid, baking soda, cornstarch, and mix well. Then, add the colorant and grapeseed oil slowly, stirring thoroughly to eliminate any lumps.

Next, add the essential oils (they can be replaced with any other essential oil or fragrance of your choice; we chose these oils because our bath bombs can also be used for steaming or facial cleansing).

Now, you need to be careful when adding water. You'll need a spray bottle filled with water. Spray once or twice, then mix. Spray again (one spray at a time, please), and continue mixing until you notice that when you press the mixture between your fingers, it holds its shape without crumbling. Be cautious not to add too much water, as it could make the mixture fizz prematurely, and avoid adding too little water, as it won't take the desired shape.

Keep dosing one spray of water at a time, mixing thoroughly until you achieve the desired consistency. Once you reach it, pour the mixture into your molds and press it down firmly to compact it and eliminate any air bubbles.

Let them dry for a full day (you can also place them on a radiator for about half an hour, remove them, and let them dry for 24 hours).

Once your bath bombs have hardened, they are ready to be removed from the mold and used!

How to use

For the bath: Fill your bathtub with water, immerse yourself, and let the bath bomb dissolve. It will fizz, releasing the scent of essential oils, hydrating and soothing your skin thanks to the baking soda, cornstarch, and oil.

For facial cleansing and steaming: Bring water to a boil in a pot, immerse the bath bomb, cover your head with a towel, and breathe in. The baking soda, along with tea tree and eucalyptus, will help open your airways and deeply purify your facial skin!
