Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Oil
INCI NAME:
Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Oil
ORIGIN:
Vegetable
FUNCTION:
Regenerating and nourishing, against inflammation

Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) is a very resilient, green-silver shrub that can reach up to 8-10 meters in height. It is mainly found along the European Atlantic coasts, as well as in China, India, and other Asian regions, growing primarily in desert areas and difficult terrains.
The plant's small, round, ripe orange fruits are mainly used, from which juices, jams, and syrups are made, along with seeds that are also used to extract oil.
The fruits of sea buckthorn, long used in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, contain 30 times more vitamin C than oranges, along with valuable flavonoids and carotenoids.
The seeds, on the other hand, are rich in healthy fats like Omega 3, Omega 6, Omega 9, and especially Omega 7, the so-called "beauty omegas," which are powerful anti-inflammatory agents that boost collagen production and hydrate all mucous membranes, including those in the gastrointestinal system.
In terms of nutrition, sea buckthorn is used in various dietary supplements, primarily as a vitamin C supplement, due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative properties. It can also alleviate gastrointestinal problems thanks to its restorative properties during recovery, fatigue, and loss of appetite.
In cosmetics, sea buckthorn oil is found in cleansers, shampoos, body creams, hand creams, and lip balms because, when applied to the skin, it has moisturizing and soothing properties that benefit skin inflammations such as eczema and acne. It also has healing properties for wounds and burns, as it promotes tissue regeneration.
It can also be used on hair: its high nourishing power will leave the hair healthy and shiny.
