Vitamin B2, or riboflavin, is part of the water-soluble vitamins, those that cannot be accumulated in the body, but must be regularly ingested through food or through food supplements. Vitamin B2 has a fundamental role as an enzymatic cofactor in the metabolism of proteins, lipids and carbohydrates, but not only; it is also a cofactor of the enzyme which restores glutathione to its active form and therefore has an antioxidant action.
