Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

Extracted from Cananga Odorata, a plant native to Tropical Asia, the essential oil of Ylang ylang as well as having an intoxicating and aphrodisiac scent (which makes it a fundamental ingredient of many perfumed formulations such as soap bars, shower gel and aftershave) also has numerous beneficial properties. It is above all an excellent tonic and astringent for the skin, it helps the dermis recover tone and luminosity, but it is especially indicated in case of acne and excessive sebum production. It is also useful for protecting, strengthening and nourishing hair subject to salt, wind and sun. In fact, the girls of the Moluccas use to prepare a conditioner with Ylang-Ylang petals macerated in the sun. In Europe this preparation has reached us through the colonial empires, in the form of "Macassar Oil", as a curative, polishing and hair growth stimulant.

Being a very intense essence, in predisposed subjects and with particularly delicate and reactive skin, it could cause skin allergies or cause nausea or headaches. For this reason, excessive doses are never used in our cosmetics.

Obtained by steam distillation of Cananga Odorata flowers. The flowers are hand-picked early in the morning and distilled within hours. The distillation takes approximately 15 to 20 hours.
Our Ylang Ylang essential oil comes from a Fair project in Madagascar.
This project, in its entirety, involves countries such as Kenya, Uganda and North Africa and guarantees fair remuneration for all workers involved in the process. The certified organic oils are processed with care and expert agronomists punctually check the quality of all the crops. Thanks to this beautiful Fair project, small farmers can do their job better, receiving training on new cultivation methods and benefiting from the funds made available to improve local health and education.
